Benefits Summary
Eligibility
Associates budgeted for 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits after three (3) months of employment. Exceptions are noted where applicable.
Health Insurance *
LHS offers a choice of three (PPO, POS and HMO) health insurance plans. LHS pays the full cost for the HMO, while LHS and the participant share the costs for the other plans. Contributions vary by a number of factors (such as the number of family members you cover, the plan you select, whether you are full or part time, your rate of pay (for the PPO if you are full time and earn under $20). Coverage is available during the three month waiting period at full cost to the associate.
Dental Insurance *
LHS offers two dental plans; Delta and Cigna. LHS pays the full cost for Delta and associates pay a small portion of the cost for Cigna.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) *
FSAs are for eligible medical and dependent care expenses. These accounts allow you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis and use the funds to pay out-of-pocket medical costs and dependent care costs.
NJ Short Term Disability
If disabled due to a non-work related illness or injury, you may collect a weekly State benefit. The benefit has a specified maximum for a period of up to 26 weeks. You must qualify under the terms of the State plan.
Extended Sick Leave (ESL)
All associates budgeted a minimum of 35 hours per week accrue 1 week of ESL per year. You may use ESL for your own illness/injury after you are absent for 1 week.
Long Term Disability (LTD)
If you remain disabled due to a non-work related illness/injury past 26 weeks, you may collect 50% of your base salary through the LTD plan. LHS pays the full cost of the base LTD plan. You may increase coverage to 60% at your cost. *

Life Insurance – Basic
The LHS life insurance program provides coverage based upon your base pay. The cost is fully paid by LHS.
Life Insurance - Supplemental *
You may purchase additional coverage for yourself, your spouse and/or your children through payroll deduction. If you enroll when you are first eligible, you may obtain specified amounts of coverage without answering qualifying medical questions.
Paid Personal Leave (PPL)
Associates accrue PPL each pay period. PPL is used for vacations, holidays, short-term illnesses or personal reasons. There is a three month waiting period before you can use PPL time. The amount of PPL time you earn each pay is based upon your position and length of service.
Pension Plan
LHS sponsors a non-contributory defined benefit program. Eligibility is age 21 and one year of service with a minimum of 1,000 hours. It is a Cash Balance plan with contributions based on an age/service formula, interest rate credit and supplemental contribution if you save in the Retirement Savings Plan. Vesting requires 5 years of service.
Retirement Savings Plans *
You are eligible to join our 403(b) plan immediately upon employment. Lincoln Financial maintains our accounts, offering high quality investments at various risk levels.
Direct Deposit *
LHS offers direct deposit for your paycheck. You may use up to 3 accounts for deposit. For added convenience, there are automatic teller machines at the Medical Centers.
Educational Assistance *
Full time associates are eligible for up to $5,000 of tuition costs for approved college courses each calendar year. Part time reimbursement is pro-rated.
Child Care
On site child care, combined with age appropriate educational programs, is offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Open Monday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 7:30 PM with full- and part-time flexible hours.
Referral Bonus
We offer our associates a $2500 bonus for referring a hire in a "hard-to-fill" position, and a $50 bonus for referring a hire for all other positions. Our streamlined referral program now has lump sum bonuses, fewer restrictions, and great new prizes.
Relocation Assistance
Relocation Assistance is available for those relocating from outside a 40-mile radius to take a position at Lourdes. Certain stipulations apply.
Adoption Assistance
Lourdes Health System in collaboration with Catholic Health East is pleased to offer our associates an Adoption Assistance Program. Full-time associates may receive up to $3,000 per child, and part-time associates may receive up to $2,000 per child to cover adoption expenses.
