Lourdes Health System Consolidates OB Services

The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services has granted final approval to the Lourdes Health System to consolidate its obstetrical services at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden. Effective May 21, Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County, Willingboro, N.J., will discontinue offering obstetrical services.

Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center provides prenatal care for both normal and high-risk pregnancies, birthing services and inpatient care, an intensive care nursery and maternal transport services among others. For information on OB services at Lourdes, call 856-365-7853.

The emergency department at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County will continue to provide emergency delivery services to any woman who presents and is imminently about to give birth. Following delivery, arrangements will be made to transport the mother and baby to the mother's hospital of choice that provides inpatient obstetrics and newborn services in coordination with their physician.
