Hongxie Shen, MD, PhD recently joined Lourdes Medical Associates' Merchantville Family Practice in Merchantville.

Trained at Louisiana State University Medical School at New Orleans Health Science Center in the Rural Family Medicine Residency Program, Dr. Shen's background also includes medical training in China and Japan, including a PhD, Philosophy in Medicine.

Dr. Shen is board-certified in family medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey and Maryland. He has special interests in allergy, asthma, skin care and acupuncture, of which he is NCCA Certified.

Dr. Shen has contributed to over 20 peer-reviewed journal publications and books and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is also fluent in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
