Hafeza Shaikh, DO Joins South Jersey Heart Group

Hafeza Shaikh, DO is the latest addition to the cardiology team at South Jersey Heart Group, an affiliate of Lourdes Cardiology Services--a leader in cardiac care for southern New Jersey and the Delaware Valley.

Born and raised in Flemington, New Jersey, Dr. Shaikh completed her undergraduate degree at Rutgers-New Brunswick in 2002 before graduating from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine with a degree in medicine in 2006.

In 2009, she completed her residency in internal medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital, a major center for cardiac care in New York City. That same year, she entered the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey -- School of Osteopathic Medicine (UMDNJ-SOM)/ South Jersey Heart Group Cardiology Fellowship Program, of which she graduated last month.

Dr. Shaikh is board certified in Internal Medicine, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. She is the only female cardiologist on staff with South Jersey Heart Group and has special interests in women's cardiovascular disease. Her other areas of interest include vascular sonography, preventative health and echocardiography.

For the past two years, she has volunteered her time at the Osborn Family Health Center across from Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, providing non-invasive cardiac testing including stress testing and echocardiography for the underserved of Camden.

Dr. Shaikh is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the American College of Physicians and the American College of Osteopathic Internists.


She will be primarily working out of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden and Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro for the remainder of the summer, but will have office hours at the Cherry Hill location beginning in early Fall, including early evening hours.


Dr. Shaikh resides in Mount Laurel, New Jersey with her husband and children.
