The Center for Advanced Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine
Our Staff
The staff at Lourdes's Camden wound-care service is highly organized and fully trained to offer one of the region's foremost centers for chronic, non-healing wounds. These leading clinicians are passionate about wound care and respected by the medical community.
They are experienced in wound-related areas, including general, vascular and plastic surgery, as well as general and internal medicine. And, they have undergone extensive training in the wound-care discipline.
Each member of our wound-healing staff champions quality-driven care, as well as good communication and collaboration with referring providers. The medical community looks to the center's clinicians as expert resources in wound management, who are also able to train other medical professionals in this practice.
The staff of the Center for Advanced Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine consists of:
- six physicians. Three general surgeons and three podiatrists staff the center medically, led by center co-directors Brian Smeal, MD, (general surgery) and Joseph V. Donnelly, DPM (podiatry). At the center, podiatry hours are primarily available in the morning and general surgery hours are primarily available in the afternoon.
- program director. The center's coordinator, Wanda Dutton, MSW, LSW, brings a background in social work to her duties of overseeing the operation and administration of the center.
- clinical coordinator and other nursing staff. The center's RNs and certified nurse assistant offer the best in patient-oriented care, including patient supervision and assistance in hyperbaric care.
- and a hyperbaric technician. The center's technician is a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (having completed course work and the extensive experience needed for this credential), trained to operate the center's hyperbaric chambers.
The center's wound-care physicians and other staff members invite patients to take advantage of Lourdes' first-rate tools, experience, know-how, and record of success in wound healing.
